New Years Weekend 2008

Leia and I rang in midnight on New Years Eve at a salsa party in Astoria, Queens, after which we trekked into the city in the FREEZING COLD temperatures.  I almost cried after a mere two minutes waiting for a cab...and I'm fairly certain I got frostbite on my very exposed toes!  Oh well...nothing a good drink couldn't clear up later.  :)

Our post-Astoria trekking eventually led us to Tribeca Hotel.

Later in the weekend, I experienced my first Burlesque show at the lower eastside's Slipper Room.  Leia's friend from San Francisco had a show that night.  And I thought salsa costumes could get skimpy!

Getting ready for Xmas - December 2008

Hot stuff in my Yankees bib...I know how to suck up to Auntie Lindsay!

Fun in the bathtub....

Round two of Brenden's first bday - December 2008

We celebrated Brenden's first bday again later that day at Grandma and Grandpa Garrett's house.  Brenden accomplished a little less smearing around of the cupcakes this time around.

Hands down favorite gift for his bday.  Good luck when he asks for the real thing someday!  Blame Auntie Heather for that one!

Yeah...I'm the man...got my own chair and everything!

Hmmm....do I want to cry...I think I might want to, but I'm distracted looking at my new horsey...

Oh wait...now I'll cry...Grandpa, get this icky food off my face!!!

Christmas Day and the rest of the Xmas wknd - December 2008

Watch out for that drum set next year at Xmas!

Christmas Eve and Brenden's First Bday - December 2008

Xmas Eve started at Todd's parent's house.  A wonderful brunch, followed by round #1 of Brenden's first birthday.  Erin made homemade cupcakes for the occasion.  Cupcakes that Brenden artistically smeared all over Grandma Behen's coffee table!

More gifts for meeeeeee!!!  Yipeeeeeee!!

Brenden's first vehicle...

Test-driving vehicle #2 with Aunt Stephanie...

Hangin with Uncle Terry...the only person Brenden didn't cry with that morning.  Looks like Erin and Todd found themselves a great babysitter!

Fun with the cupcakes....and Brenden's journey to dad before brunch.  Look out world...he's walking!
