Sydney's "To Be Continued..." Weekend - Dec 20, 2008

Yes, yes, yes...another night at Ella.  Had to give Sydney a proper "Bon Voyage" and "Good Luck".  The Ella saga to be continued in the fall when she returns!

Sydney's 30th Bday - November 17, 2008

On our way to Atlantic City for Sydney's surprise night #1 of her 30th birthday weekend.  It took all four of us to drive the mixed stick-automatic car.  What the heck is that genius invention?  Who actually wants to work harder driving?!

Our humble abode for the night...

Cupcakes and candles in the room before hitting up the casino...

"Yooooooww!!!! Kelly Clarkson!  Como te amo!"

After a night of flooding the roulette table with our drinks, we crawled back upstairs for seconds on the birthday cupcakes...  And yes, when I say, "flood", I mean a full on pool on the table, thanks to the domino effect spillage of all of our drinks.  We got a bit of a reputation in the casino after that.  Just a wee bit.  Fantastic.  But...most importantly, Sydney did win when she bet on 30!

Heather is really excited about hot dogs on the board walk...

Night #2 led us to Ella - one of our favorite lower east side spots.  After our seven a.m. bedtime in Atlantic City the night before, this night took more than a tad bit of rallying to make it out for.

Emily & Rory's Wedding - November 8, 2008

I made a whirlwind trip to Berkeley, CA for Emily and Rory's wedding - and a beautifully executed wedding at that!  Despite the less than 24-hour turn-around, it ended up a blast of a trip... a college reunion of sorts, including some of the insane humor we all remember well from our days at Cal (or try to remember..hehe).  And of course, no night out in Berkeley is complete without the fine dining and cuisine offered at Durant Avenue's very own La Burrita.  The plane ride home a mere three hours after that night out felt wonderful, to put it mildly.

And now for some color and art work...

After six months of empty walls, I finally hung some art work, thanks to the talents of my artist roomie, Sydney.  Drowning in bright reds and blues now, my mother can no longer claim that I live in a colorless, drab world.  Haha!

*Art work soon to be available to the public in small galleries in and around NYC!

My newly furnished abode...

Its official...I have escaped the chaos of NYC and the clausterphobia-inducing closet-sized apartments.  After closing on my condo in May, I moved a few minutes across the Hudson in mid-June to Hoboken.  A brief look at my finally furnished condo...

Kimberly's 28th Bday - August 2008

We spent Kimberly's 28th bday at Dave n' Busters in Times Square...contrary to popular belief, it IS actually fun to play the silly games and watch the silly paper tickets come flying out.  An unexpected nice change from the traditional Manhattan night-life scene.  The best part of the night...buying the uber-classy bunny ears for Kimberly to wear the rest of the night with all of our tickets.

Striking gold spinning the ball...
